Cape Town Township Tours
Experience Cape Town’s Oldest Township With A Qualified Local Guide
Siviwe Tours specializes in eye-opening guided tours of Langa, Cape Town’s oldest black township.
On a typical walking tour, you’ll see four different housing and socio-economic areas, including worker hostels and informal settlements.
You will get the chance to greet residents along the way in our language, called Xhosa.
We also try to incorporate cultural entertainment, including music and dance – including an after school project we run, teaching local kids a dance called the “Gumboots Dance”.
We’re more than happy to tailor township tours to your needs. If you are interested in history, art, music, education, social issues, or health care, we’re happy to customise your tour to suit.
Approximately 2-hour walking tours are R200 per person if you have your own transport, or R350 per person including return transfers.

Testimonials
Our tour of the Langa Township with Siviwe was a true highlight of our stay in Cape Town.
It was an eye-opening experience to see how the township has developed up to the present day and meet the locals face-to-face. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming and we felt completely safe at all times.
At the end of the tour, Siviwe’s “Happy Feet” troupe performed their gumboots dance for us – a great example of the cultural and community vitality to be found in Langa.
I can’t recommend Siviwe’s tour highly enough.
